Why it matters: training-load management needs a rolling load picture per player, not a static list. In the sweet spot between 0.8 and 1.3, injury risk stays low, above it risk rises (Gabbett, British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2016). It is measured through session-RPE — perceived exertion (1–10) multiplied by training duration, a validated, hardware-free method (Foster et al., Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2001). A spreadsheet cannot calculate this value on its own and raises no alert when it's exceeded.

Frequently asked questions
Why are spreadsheets and paper lists not enough for training-load management?
Because training-load management needs a rolling 7-/28-day load picture per player (Gabbett, British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2016) and consistently logged session-RPE (Foster et al., 2001). Both are hard to maintain by hand in a spreadsheet. Excel cannot calculate a Load Index automatically, send a push alert on overload, or generate an AI briefing. Paper lists and WhatsApp polls are also error-prone and often a GDPR risk with player data.
How long does switching from spreadsheets and paper to KAIZEA take?
Setup takes about 2 minutes. CSV import is available for existing Excel rosters; paper lists are transferred manually once.
Is my data stored in a GDPR-compliant way with KAIZEA?
Yes. Hosting is in the EU (Germany/Netherlands) under a data processing agreement, including a dedicated parent role with consent for minors. See the Security & Privacy page for details.
Does KAIZEA replace WhatsApp and DFBnet?
No, deliberately not. Club communication stays in WhatsApp, and DFBnet remains the mandatory German platform for match reports and player registration. KAIZEA replaces the spreadsheet and the paper list for the training work in between: load, wellness, planning, development.
What does switching from Excel to KAIZEA cost?
Clubs start with the pilot program free of charge; final pricing is published only after the pilot phase, with founding-partner terms for early clubs.
Can I export my data from KAIZEA again?
Yes. All data can be exported as CSV at any time. No vendor lock-in.
