Parents on the touchline at a youth football match

For Parents

KAIZEA for Parents — informed, reassured, in control

Your child trains hard. You want to know everything is fine, without becoming a helicopter parent. KAIZEA gives you insight into your child's wellness and training load without intruding on their private space. And when it comes to data protection for minors, KAIZEA works to a strict GDPR standard with EU hosting.

The situation today

How do you stay informed without controlling?

You want to know how your child is doing — without constantly asking or watching every session. That's the middle ground KAIZEA makes possible.

Insight without control

You want to know how your child is doing, without asking after every session or becoming a helicopter parent.

Notifications at the wrong time

Push messages in the middle of class or right before bedtime add unnecessary stress to your day.

Your minor child's sensitive data

Wellness and health data deserve extra protection — you want to know exactly where it's stored and who has access.

Load without context

Is this week's training volume normal, or too much? Without a reference point, that's hard to judge from the outside.

This isn't a side issue legally: under Article 9 GDPR, health data counts as a special category of personal data with heightened protection requirements, and for children under 16, German law requires parental consent under Article 8 GDPR. How KAIZEA implements this in practice is below.

What you see

What do you see as a parent in your own account?

Your KAIZEA account is a separate login, distinct from your child's account. You see trends, not snapshots — and never a single private entry your child hasn't shared.

  • Wellness trends — sleep, mood, soreness, stress, nutrition and energy over weeks
  • Attendance & participation — your child's RSVP status for training and matches at a glance
  • Season development — how your child develops over the whole season
  • Notifications with quiet hours — alerts respect school time and sleep

Data protection for minors

How does KAIZEA legally protect your child's data?

In short: through two relevant GDPR articles, a multi-step consent flow, and hosting that stays in Germany and the Netherlands.

Article 8 GDPR — consent for minors

In Germany, children under 16 may only join digital services like KAIZEA with parental consent. There is no lowering of this age threshold via the national opening clause.

Article 9 GDPR — health data specially protected

Wellness and load data count as health data — a special category of personal data with a general processing ban, lifted only by express consent.

Consent in four steps

Participation, data processing, visibility for the coach, and optional AI use are requested separately — and every step can be revoked at any time.

Separate AI opt-in

If you revoke AI use, the rest of the account — wellness tracking, Load traffic light, attendance — stays fully intact. No feature is lost.

EU hosting in certified data centres

All data is encrypted and stored in certified data centres in Germany and the Netherlands — never on servers outside the EU.

Export & deletion on request

You can export or permanently delete your child's data at any time — not just deactivate it.

Free for families

The parent account costs you nothing. The club covers it under its KAIZEA contract.

Why it matters

Why does training-load management protect your child?

Because sudden jumps in training volume raise injury risk — and that's exactly what the Load traffic light makes visible, before it becomes a problem.

Sports scientist Tim Gabbett shows in his widely cited work in the British Journal of Sports Medicine (2016): when weekly training load increases by more than 10%, injury risk rises with it. The optimal load range sits at a load index of 0.8–1.3; above that, injury risk rises sharply (Gabbett, British Journal of Sports Medicine, 2016). A steady, planned increase in load keeps it low instead. KAIZEA doesn't prevent injuries — no system can promise that. But your child's Load traffic light spots load spikes before they become a risk, and makes them visible to you and the coach. Especially for young athletes, who often can't yet judge their own limits well, that's a safety net that simply doesn't exist without digital support.

Frequently asked questions

What data about my child can I see?

You see your child's wellness trends (sleep, mood, soreness, stress, nutrition, energy), attendance at training and matches, and development over the season — but only with consent. Private notes your child hasn't shared stay hidden.

Who has access to my child's data?

Only authorised people: the coach with explicit consent, and you as a parent. KAIZEA applies strict data minimisation under GDPR — there is no sharing with third parties without express consent.

How does parental consent work?

For children under 16, you as a parent approve both participation in the system and data processing (Article 8 GDPR) — in four separate steps, revocable at any time, without your child being removed from the team.

Do I as a parent need the app?

No, not necessarily. You can optionally follow your child's development through your own account. Push notifications respect configurable quiet hours — no disruption during school time or sleep.

Is a verbal consent from parents at the start of the season enough?

No. GDPR requires documented, verifiable consent — a verbal agreement at the first training session isn't legally sufficient. KAIZEA maps the four-step consent digitally: you confirm it in the app, it's stored, and it stays visible and revocable at any time.

What happens to my child's data if they leave or switch clubs?

You can export or permanently delete your child's data at any time. Without a deletion request, it's kept only as long as the club's purpose requires — no longer.
